The plot of this film is a fusion of those wild night movies which include Scorsese’s After Hours (1995) the surprisingly watchable Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000) and any crime gone bad movie (see Killing Zoe, 1993 or Pulp Fiction, 1994). For those of you not familiar with the work of distribution company Troma, their back catalogue includes Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV (2000) and Class of Nuke ‘em High Part III: The Good, the Bad and The Subhumanoid (1994). This is not a film trying too hard to be a social commentary, although it does feature all the elements required for a good rant should you feel obliged to make one – enough sex, drugs, violence and gender and economic politics to make even the most liberally minded of viewers shuffle in their seats if taken the wrong way. What it is trying (and mostly succeeding) to do could be compared to giving a toddler a full Sunday lunch and letting them go crazy, the result is predictably messy and not to everyone’s taste, but potentially a whole lot of fun.Ħ8 Kill is an American exploitation infused crime film written and directed by Troma alumni Trent Haaga. We received a free copy of this film from Organic Publicity in exchange for an honest review.īefore I even get into the plot synopsis of this movie I have to tell you one thing – it is not to be approached seriously.
